Jean-Pierre – Acclaimed wedding photographer, artist, and creative explorer
How did I become an award-winning wedding photographer? Through a curiosity for love and a vision for happily ever after. In my eyes, weddings are full of life. I love it! And through my lens I am able to beautifully, masterfully capture those decisive moments, moments of love, laughter, tears and joy, moments with family and friends that you never want to forget, that you never need forget. As an acclaimed photographer, my job is to give you a record of your wedding day, to deliver iconic images that stay true to your love and that you can carry in your heart forever.
From Cape Town, South Africa to all around the globe, I have been a wedding photographer for over ten years, shooting over 400 weddings in that time. Experience has given me an intimate understanding of weddings, the people involved, the emotions, the flow, the energy and the timings. My intuition is to see what others may miss and to capture those defining moments that could otherwise be lost. This is split second timing in emotion and composition, seeing and shaping light, getting the perfect, most flattering angle, focusing on the finer details. I believe every wedding is unique and so I am always exploring and looking for that photograph that I haven't even seen yet!
I have been invited as wedding photographer for weddings in San Francisco, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Greece, Amsterdam, Ireland, UK, Zimbabwe and all over South Africa. My portfolio also includes celebrity weddings such as Trevor Manual, Nicole Fox, Kerry McGregor and Neil Mckenzie.

Janine and Bas had their wedding in the amazing city of Amsterdam. One of their best friends Tertius, who is the top wedding photographer in The Netherlands wanted to be a guest and booked me for their wedding.
I loved shooting this stylish black tie celebration!
Vera Wang dress meets Jimmy Choo shoes, this should say enough about this stylish couple!
I loved capturing this awesome wedding at the beautiful Allee Bleue venue in Franschhoek.
This was part 2 of this couple's wedding celebration! It was such an honor for me to first photograph their South-African wedding and then to photograph their London wedding.
They decided to have the same photographer shoot both! Just as special and full of emotion as the first wedding! I have since become friends with this lovely couple. Be sure to look at their South-African wedding gallery as well.
This was part 1 of this couple's wedding celebration journey! The South-African wedding took place at the breathtaking Molenvliet in Franschhoek in Cape Town. Their wedding was coordinated by Johnny from the Aleit group.
This bride was so full of life and I loved capturing every moment! Be sure to look at their London wedding gallery too!
You would never notice it on the photos but Caron got married with her foot in a cast. If you can start your married life with such determination and overcoming joy, I think you will be well prepared to face anything together. Enjoy some of Eric Uys' additional images.
They got married at the beautiful Webersburg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. If you want a wedding venue in Cape Town with a view, this is it! However on their day it rained cats and dogs...what do you do?
Thats what makes weddings beautiful for me and what I love to capture...the people! This couple did not let the rain get in the way of having the best day ever! The images are just full of life and energy. We even endured the rain for some photos with umbrellas or even no umbrellas. I have to give the most credit to Christie for braving it without a nice jacket to keep her warm.
I really love the style of this wedding and the venue was so breathtaking making my job very easy. Mix that with beautiful details and moments and you have imagery that is so enjoyable to look at over and over again.
Matthew and Rosie epic wedding was coordinated by the team from Wedding Concepts. Both Matthew and Rosie got ready at the exquisite La Residence where their reception also took place. Their ceremony was held at the NG Moederkerk in Franschhoek.
Leigh-Anne wore a stunning dress by Henrik Vermeulen Couturier. The theme for their wedding was travel and I love how they used airport names as table seating.
One of my favourite images is the one of the whole bridal party walking and we find the one bestman on his own right in the middle of the group looking at us.
Brandon and Rebecca's wedding was created by Johnny from the Aleit Group. Their ceremony was held at Daylight Studio in Bree Street, Cape Town and then they went off to their reception at Salt Restaurant in Bantry Bay.
From this set of images I really love the bridal portraits and really enjoyed capturing the "birds eye view" images from the top of the building.
